Launch of Portal v2
CDL has launched Portal v2, re-engineering its industry leading self-service portal to adopt a low code / no code model for its digital front end and enabling it to deploy the latest technologies to enhance the consumer experience, drive higher levels of self-service and reduce day-to-day demands made of contact centre agents. The move to a low code / no code model also enables the launch of a highly configurable App Console, which gives CDL customers the ability to make changes to their websites quickly and simply via a web interface, ensuring greater control and autonomy over the digital front-end as developer coding time is no longer required for website updates.
Offering customers a web-based content management system with an intuitive interface, the CDL App Console enables users to experiment with AB testing and preview changes in a test environment prior to posting them live.
CDL Chief Technology Officer, Robert Trueman, said: "We are pleased to be introducing further change that enables us to operate under a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model and ensure CDL continues to pioneer industry leading self-service capabilities. Including enhanced renewal and automated cancellations processes, Portal v2 is focused on driving greater self-service, both for consumers and the insurance retailer. The CDL App Console in particular will make a significant difference to customer control of website updates, giving them speed, flexibility and control when it comes to making changes."
The development is also designed to accelerate digital innovation at CDL, freeing up developer time for R&D and creativity, paving the way for the addition of new features.
Portal v2 features are already being used by customers, with more to be released in the New Year through iterative releases; meanwhile, the new App Console is currently being piloted internally for digital updates made by CDL squad members, enabling them to identify refinements before it goes out in 2024.
"We have been road testing App Console for some time within CDL to ensure it delivers the flexibility customers need to take control of the consumer experience," explains Rob. "The next phase will see four clients go live with Portal v2 as we prepare for wider roll-out."
