Sport Relief 2020
CDL cycles for charity

16th March 2020

News Story Image Cycling the distance from Stockport to Gretna Green in single day, a team of CDL volunteers have completed an impressive bike ride in aid of this year's Sport Relief, peddling up the pounds to help vulnerable people around the world.

Set in the heart of CDL's campus, the sponsored bike-a-thon saw cyclists ride an exercise bike for consecutive 15-30 minute slots throughout the working day. The aim to clock as many miles, and funds, as possible for the life-changing projects supported by Sport Relief 2020, including those dealing with challenges caused by the recent coronavirus outbreak.

As with all charity work undertaken within the company, CDL match-funded the total amount raised by the volunteers, doubling the firm's contribution.

Commenting on this, Director of Human Resources at CDL, Frank Robinson, said: "We are really proud of our team's efforts, they have done a fantastic job and raised vital funds for those in need.

"We would all also like to say a big thank you to Stockport's sport trust, Life Leisure, who kindly lent us the exercise bike for the event. It's great to see local businesses coming together in support of such a worthy cause."

The Sport Relief appeal raised over £40m for charitable causes this year. To find out more, visit: sportrelief.com
