What does customer service at CDL look like?
'Creating powerful partnerships' is the mantra here at CDL and this truly runs through everything that we do. We believe our growth over the decades is thanks to the collaborative approach we've taken to relationships with our customers. It is our commitment to world class service that has been strategically imperative to our success.

An important indicator of success for us is customer sentiment. Broking is very much about customer engagement, and whilst we have service level agreements, monthly reviews and associated surveys, what's more determining is how much our customers enjoy working with us.

How is it measured?
Getting down to it, we start with customer satisfaction scores and feedback from recent engagement with CDL. Data informs where improvements can be made, with the changes being shared with all applicable teams to maintain a consistent service and most importantly, our continuous improvement culture. The idea here is that it's not just about what is reported at board level but a good experience for everyone.

We power billions of events each week and if our customers have an issue, as strange as it sounds, we want them to hope it's related to CDL because we have the knowledge and the ability to always deliver a swift resolution and to their satisfaction. The goal is for our teams to own issues through to resolution, so the customer liaises with and receives their solution with operations, rather than being sent elsewhere.

What is the feedback from brokers?
Our customers tell us they appreciate how accessible we are as we have a culture of being available to our customers when they need us. As a result, a large percentage of queries are resolved within 24 hours.

Big or small, we focus on having a collaborative relationship, rather than it being simply a transactional one.

How can the Irish market reap the rewards?
From our perspective, it's an exciting time for both insurance and technology on the Emerald Isle. This is a timely opportunity to enjoy the world-class service we offer our customers here in the UK. Coupled with that, we are investing heavily in AI tooling as this is something we know the market would benefit from, given the rewards that can be reaped from the first player advantage.
