31st October 2022

News Story Image CDL has climbed 27 places in the UK InsurTech 50 ranking to take the number one spot after judging by industry experts and a public vote.

Having entered the ranking mid-table in 2021, it catapulted up the listing following the launch of a number of initiatives, including its proactive insurance solution, which was deployed by British Gas and saw direct home insurance sales double in the first six months.

The past year also saw CDL complete the migration of all its broking and insurance ecosystem customers from on-premise hosting to Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-hosting, transforming the resilience, scalability and performance of its solutions for the personal lines insurance sector.

Compiled by BusinessCloud, the InsurTech 50 comprises the UK's most innovative start-ups, scale-ups and established firms, including insurtechs, broker platforms, AI leaders and data intelligence hubs at the forefront of insurance industry technology.

Speaking of the win, Nigel Phillips, CEO at CDL, commented: "To be named as the country's best insurtech, as judged by industry peers and customers, is real testament to the hard work of our colleagues and it evidences the impact of our sustained investment in innovation, in people and in our systems."

Jonathan Symcox, BusinessCloud editor, added: "The InsurTech 50 celebrates technology innovators of all sizes; it is an honour to shine a light on so many businesses blazing a trail in insurance, payments and regulation. To be ranked number one amongst such high calibre contenders is a fantastic achievement - many congratulations to the CDL team."

With products designed to revolutionise consumer experiences, drive revenue and cut fraud, the company boasts Co-op Insurance, LV=Broker, RAC Insurance and Swinton Insurance amongst its portfolio of clients.
