CDL VIS, formerly The Vehicle Inspection Company (TVIC) was acquired in 2005 and is the vehicle data arm of CDL. We have also joined forces with Onesoon, a mobile messaging company, to launch TEXTCHECK now rebranded as mytextcheck, an innovative new service which enables the buyers of second hand vehicles to access authentic vehicle history data within seconds via their mobile phone. This offers a cost-effective ‘roaming’ vehicle history checking service that can be used whilst actually viewing a second hand vehicle.
And its not just consumers that benefit from CDL VIS, we can also support our broking partners, allowing them to deliver enhanced consumer protection measures. It also provides access to the Motor Insurance Anti-Fraud and Theft Register (MIAFTR), Police Information Technology Organisation (PITO) and DVLA Mileage information.
By incorporating DVLA data into CDL Strata, CDL Classic and online quotation modules, we can automatically provide users of our system with all the information they need on the make and model of a car by simply typing in the registration number. This speeds up the quotation process and reduces insurer and intermediary rework due to errors on policy documents.
