Specialist motor comparison site, Q4, is the latest internet aggregator to work with CDL to implement CDL’s best of breed ‘Black Box’ aggregator solution and XML link to back office systems. The site, launched in May 2006, now offers consumers faster, more accurate insurance quotes for their motor cover.
CDL has also worked with Q4 to develop the front end of the website, linking it to the CDL broking community and incorporating CDL’s advanced Management Information Solutions module to provide management information and analysis.
The CDL aggregator solution enables data to be obtained from all affiliated sites in a consistent XML format without disruption to each website involved and ensures the resilience of online broking sites by deploying a fast, efficient and uniform method of extracting information.
This means that excessive pressure is not placed on affiliated websites, telecom networks and broker back office systems as a result of ‘screen scraping’ by comparative quotation engines.
Unlike other comparative quote technologies, the ‘Black Box’ solution is able to deal with additional information, such as previous claims or convictions, in order to ensure accurate quotes are delivered.
Commenting on the launch of the site and the application of CDL’s Black Box solution, Jonathan Bentley, managing director at Q4 said that the site is meeting the projected volume of enquiries and is steadily climbing.
