Taxi Direct has awarded its software provision contract to CDL, reporting 75% savings on the time taken to generate quotations within three months of installing the company’s broking system, CDL Classic.
The intermediary selected CDL for its taxi lines operation on the basis of the system’s ability to accommodate specialist schemes. Taxi Direct had previously operated a Misys system.
Andrew Bessell, operations manager at Taxi Direct, explains: “The move to CDL has afforded us what is an unusual level of automation in the field of taxi insurance.
“The integration of back office functionality to the quotes engine has made generating documentation much quicker and has significantly increased our capacity. Writing business through the CDL system takes two to three minutes, rather than the ten minute average previously recorded.”
The implementation of CDL Classic is designed to support Taxi Direct in making the transition from the high street model to an increasingly telesales and internet focused operation.
The new system incorporates a high speed quotation engine with built-in taxi lines schemes, as well as additional plug-in modules, such as CDL FileStore and DocStore that save all incoming and outgoing correspondence in electronic format attached to the policyholder’s diary.
CDL general manager, Rick Slater, adds: “We are delighted to be working with Taxi Direct and look forward to helping them achieve greater operational efficiencies in the future.
“We are currently working on integrating a CDL internet platform to their back office system, which will deliver further time savings through online data capture.”
Taxi Direct is a member of Group Direct, which employs over 200 people at its Bristol-based operation.
